I want to tell you about one of the best strategies in the world for beating an overvalued market. I use it to generate thousands of dollars in “Instant Income” from the best companies in the world.  If you haven’t guessed it already, my strategy involves selling options. And right now, we have a huge opportunity… In just a minute, I’ll give you five potential trades to consider today for collecting immediate income. First, let me explain how it works with a couple of past examples. Recently, subscribers to my Income Trader newsletter made $130 in “Instant Income” from a $520 “down payment” on Questcor Pharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: QCOR). That’s an immediate return of 25% in 43 days, or 212% a year. And back in July, I collected $100 in “Instant Income” from OSI Systems (Nasdaq: OSIS) for every $900 I set aside. That’s an 11.1% return in 45 days, or 90.1% a year. Remember, this is how much income we made per contract. You can scale up as much as you want. You see,… Read More

Because rising interest rates may hurt some dividend-paying stocks in the months ahead. As Bespoke Investment Group co-founder Paul Hickey put it this week: “It doesn’t take much of a move in interest rates … to make a lot of stock dividend yields quickly look considerably less attractive.”   #-ad_banner-#And as dividend stocks become less attractive, your risk of losing money by holding the wrong ones increases. Sure enough, as USA Today pointed out, high-yielding utilities — an income investor favorite — have lost around 10% since Bernanke’s May 21 announcement that… Read More

Crop growing seasons are dictated by the weather. Farmers generally plant in the spring and harvest in the fall. Some countries in the Southern Hemisphere do the opposite because of their weather, but farmers — and traders — know in advance when crops should be planted and harvested.  This pattern has an impact on prices and results in a cycle that can be seen in the price of corn and other grains. The chart below shows the seasonal pattern for corn. Traders in the futures markets use charts like this to understand the… Read More

Traders in the futures markets use charts like this to understand the normal direction of the trend. Corn usually starts the year by moving higher. There are some smaller up and down moves, but the price generally peaks in August and then falls into November. Corn is planted mostly in May and June. Harvest can begin in September and is completed by November. This explains the November bottom in prices seen in the chart. That is the time when all of the crop will be out of the field. There will be no additions to… Read More
